The week of nudes – day 4 – compare me

Hello everyone,

I told you I would compare some of my nude polishes. These three are the ones that looked most alike and since especially Ciaté is a bit more on the pricey side, I thought it might be interesting to see if there are cheaper polishes that look almost the same.

Here are the polishes:

I placed the polishes next to the nail I applied them on. From left to right, ring finger to pointy finger.

In this picture you can see the difference very clearly. Left you can see Color Show 015 nude skin, in the middle Ciaté’s PP107 pocket money and on the right you can see Stripped Nudes 227 In your flesh.

I was hoping to show an alternative to the expensive Ciaté polish but sadly all three nudes are pretty different.
I think the perfect match depends on you personal taste and also skin tone. I like all of these but I think the Ciaté polish matches me best. I will still wear the others though^^

The reason why I did not include my new Stripped Nudes polish ( 25 Bare it all) is simply because it is much lighter then the others. I thought it did not make much sense to compare it with the others^^.

Also I hope this post was helpful for you, even if it did not show an alternative to pocket money.

Which one is your favorite?
Let me know.

The week of nudes – day 2 – Maybelline Color Show by Colorama – 015 Nude skin + 049 midnight taupe + 357 burgundy kiss

Hello everyone,

round two in my short week of the nudes.
With that comes a question in mind. We all know the meaning of nude, but one definition also sais a nude shade does not always have to match your skin tone. So does that mean a nude can also be a dark color?
Nudes can vary. meaning a nude polish can be a super light pink/rose color, any kind of beige to even a semi dark brown color.
www.dailymakeover.com has a very interesting post about it.

But again, does nude necessarily mean not dark?

I say no!
I think mostly it does, but why not break it open by also choosing darker colors as a “nude”.

Today I want to introduce you to 3 polishes by Maybelline New York’s Color Show by Colorama. (what a name….)

The first one is a traditional nude. It is a light beige tone.

I am really sorry that the color shows off differently in almost all pictures.
The last picture displays the original color best I think, so please don’t put too much into the other pictures.

The next polish is definitely darker. It is a taupe color, at least it sais taupe in the name of the polish. I don’t know the definition for taupe so to me it is a dark chocolate brown I guess^^

It is a pretty dark color, and in certain lighting it looks rind of dark red-ish, but I think it is very pretty.

The last but not least is even more dark and more on the red tone.

I know the last two shades are not typical nude colors, but when I bought them, they were in line with the nudes.
I don’t know if that was on purpose or random, but like I said I think nude shades don’t have to be light or beige/brown.

What do you think?
