Hello everyone,
round two in my short week of the nudes.
With that comes a question in mind. We all know the meaning of nude, but one definition also sais a nude shade does not always have to match your skin tone. So does that mean a nude can also be a dark color?
Nudes can vary. meaning a nude polish can be a super light pink/rose color, any kind of beige to even a semi dark brown color.
www.dailymakeover.com has a very interesting post about it.
But again, does nude necessarily mean not dark?
I say no!
I think mostly it does, but why not break it open by also choosing darker colors as a “nude”.
Today I want to introduce you to 3 polishes by Maybelline New York’s Color Show by Colorama. (what a name….)
The first one is a traditional nude. It is a light beige tone.
015 nude skin
I am really sorry that the color shows off differently in almost all pictures.
The last picture displays the original color best I think, so please don’t put too much into the other pictures.
The next polish is definitely darker. It is a taupe color, at least it sais taupe in the name of the polish. I don’t know the definition for taupe so to me it is a dark chocolate brown I guess^^
549 Midnight Taupe
It is a pretty dark color, and in certain lighting it looks rind of dark red-ish, but I think it is very pretty.
The last but not least is even more dark and more on the red tone.
357 Burgundy Kiss
I know the last two shades are not typical nude colors, but when I bought them, they were in line with the nudes.
I don’t know if that was on purpose or random, but like I said I think nude shades don’t have to be light or beige/brown.
What do you think?
