Good evening everyone and a happy 3rd Advent day.
I can’t believe Christmas is almost around the corner.
Last week we had our first bit of snow, I wish it would have lasted longer because somehow I am so busy that I am loosing my Christmas spirit right now. I hope that won’t last, because I was looking forward to this time of the year so bad.
Today’s nail design kind of helped to get a little piece of the mood back.
Jule (Julchens–Traumwelt) and I Christmas Characters for today’s theme.
I love the little Santa and Rudolph. The Snowman and Gingerbread Man didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted them, but they are still cute I think.
What I used?
I must say the design looks more difficult then it actually it. All you need is patience and a still hand.
For Santa I used two nails as you can see, the middle finger for his face and the thumb for his body. First I painted a bit of Ciaté’s espedrilles near the cuticle area of my middle finger. I let it dry and used O.P.I.’s Alpine snow and a dotting tool to create the fluffy part of his hat, as well as the beard at the end of the nail. Make sure to leave space in between so we still have his face to draw on his eyes and a little nose. Tor create his body, paint the thumb nail in Ciaté’s espedrilles. Let it dry and draw on the fluffy part of his coat near the cuticle are as well as a white line all down the nail. Let this dry properly before you draw on his black belt and golden buckle.
For Rudolph I used Ciaté’s dare to bare to draw on his head and ears. For his antler’s I used Nails Inc’s prince’s gate.
Let it dry and draw on his pretty red nose using Espedrilles from Ciaté again as well as a white and black polish to create his eyes.
As a base for the snowman I used O.P.I.’s Yoga-ta get this blue! as well as p2’s old shimmer topper just fantastic.
Let the base dry and use a white polish to create the snowman. Once he is dry you can add details like his scarf, face and buttons.
Last but not least the Gingerbread Man. I painted on one coat of O.P.I.’s Alpine Snow to get a white base and let it dry. After that I used Ciaté’s dare to bare again to dot on the Gingerbread’s body. Let it dry again and add the details.
Of course I used a fast drying top coat to seal in all the designs.
I had a lot of fun creating these cute characters. Maybe try it yourself :)
I would love to see you re-creations with the hashtag #jman2014
Have a great Sunday.
